History & Founding
Founded in 1956
Founded in 1956 by visionary freedom fighter and spiritual seeker Surendra Nath Jauhar (Fakir), the Sri Aurobindo Education Society (SAES) is devoted to advancing Integral Education—an approach rooted in the teachings of Sri Aurobindo and The Mother. Guided and blessed by The Mother herself, the Society was established to nurture the full and balanced development of every individual—physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual.
At the heart of this mission is The Mother’s International School (The MIS)—the flagship institution, recognized nationwide for its commitment to holistic, values-based education.
SAES also plays an active role beyond the classroom, engaging in cultural, environmental, and community-focused initiatives that reflect its broader vision of building a conscious and compassionate society.
